William "Bill" White, Sr. Obituary

HAVERHILL - William “Bill” F. White, Sr., 84 of Haverhill, formerly of Billerica, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 12, 2021 surrounded by his loving family including his wife of 62 years Mary (Fraser) White.

He was born on January 20, 1937 in Boston, MA. He graduated from the Gate of Heaven High School and attended Bentley University. Bill was a proud Veteran of the United States Army.

Bill was a legend in the flooring industry, most recently as the President of Traditional Sales/Marketing Division at Belknap White Group until his retirement in 2015 after 58 years in the industry. He was highly respected by his former co-workers as a kind, caring, and friendly co-worker and mentor. He received the lifetime achievement award in 2014 by the Connecticut Floor Covering Association.

He enjoyed playing cards, board games, Bingo, and trips to local casinos. Bill enjoyed listening to country music especially Patsy Cline as he would whistle and serenade his family.  He was a huge Boston sports fan and shared his passion with his family as a previous season ticket holder for many years for the New England Patriots and Boston Bruins.

Bill married Mary on October 4, 1958. They lived in South Boston before relocating the family to their cherished home on Garnet Road in Billerica, MA, where many wonderful memories were made. Family was everything to Bill and he cherished every family gathering and the Holidays, especially Christmas Eve as he handed out gifts and watched his family in awe. He enjoyed dining out with his family over the years, as well as starting traditions such as our family’s love of “Lynwood Café Pizzas”. His doors were always open for everyone. He was a “Dad” and “Papa” to many.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his sons William White, Jr. (Karen) and Michael White (Pam); daughters Karen Brown (Charles “Buzz”), Patricia Ross (Laurie) and Kristen Bernard (Edgar); grandchildren James Brown, IV, Michelle Cole (David), Craig Ross (Kari), Nicole Jensen (Torin), Nickolas Morrell, Sean White, Casey White (Jocelyn), Ryan White, Katelyn White, Adam White; brother in-law Paul Fraser (Diane) and many great-grandchildren and family dogs that he loved.  Bill is also survived by extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Mildred White and sister Ruth White.

Bill’s family would like to thank all the people who gave him and his family such loving medical care and support during his recent illness, particularly those at Holy Family Hospital Haverhill / Methuen, as well as Care Dimensions Hospice.
