METHUEN - Suzanne passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, May 2, following an extended illness.
Sue was born in Lawrence, MA to Roland and Gertrude (Lacaillade) Monastesse. She was a graduate of Haverhill High School Class of 1969 and attended Northern Essex Community College. She was an early childhood educator in various daycares in Haverhill for over 25 years, most recently at Little Footprints Learning Center. In retirement, Sue worked as a home care provider for elderly and disabled adults, working for Home Instead and Fidelity House/Elder Services.
Sue was an avid reader, and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, as well as keeping up on current events and politics.
Suzanne was predeceased by her parents, her sister Dianne (Monastesse) Murray, and her daughter, Laurie A. Madigan. Sue is survived by her beloved husband, Gary of Methuen, her daughter, Amy E. (Madigan) Croft and her husband, Gary of Haverhill, her Stepson, Steven Hall and his Fiancee Andrea DiCicco of Billerica, her granddaughter, Morgan Croft of Haverhill, her sister, Lynne Pickering and her husband James, of Danville, NH and her brother, Matthew Monastesse and his wife Marilyn of Haverhill, as well as countless beloved family friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 8, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 6:30 PM. Service will begin at 6:30 PM.
