Paul A. McGilvray

ROCKPORT - Paul A. McGilvray, age 79, of Rockport passed away April 4, 2020 after a short illness.

He was born June 8, 1940 in Cambridge, the son of Frank and Margaret (Foley) McGilvray. Paul graduated from Rindge Tech in Cambridge in 1958 after which he enlisted in the Army, where he served as a radio operator. Upon his discharge, he attended Boston College for a year before joining the US Post Office where he worked until his retirement in 1995. In his younger years, Paul was an avid runner; he also enjoyed trips to the racetrack with his father. He was a lifelong supporter of the Boston Symphony and looked forward to his annual outings to Tanglewood.

Paul was predeceased by his parents and his brother Jack McGilvray of Rockland. He is survived by his sister in-law Jennifer of Rockland and his brother Ted (Dianne) of Haverhill, as well as his nephew Christopher of Brockton and his nieces Laurie and Kathy (David Edwards) and his grandniece Michaela all of Somerville.
