Michael Belmont

METHUEN - Michael J. Belmont, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, May 18, 2020.

Michael was born on July 31, 1960. Son of the late Myron "Mike" Belmont and Margaret (Hamilton) Belmont. He spent most of his younger years growing up in Haverhill with his 5 sisters. He graduated from Whittier Tech in 1978 and attended some college courses. Michael worked many trades throughout his life including welding and railroad work and spent the last 20 years as a mental health worker at Tewksbury state hospital. 

Michael had a personality bigger than life itself with a contagious smile to match. He enjoyed being in nature, especially going fishing. His favorite thing to do in summer was go to the beach, build sand castles and dig for crabs in the rocks with his girls. He also had a love for cars, new and old.

Michael is remembered by many loved ones. His cherished wife Melissa (Jones) Belmont of Methuen; his three daughters Mikaela Belmont of North Andover, Brooke Belmont of North Andover and Ava Belmont of Methuen; sisters Patricia Belmont Wells of Haverhill, Susan Safford and husband Jody of Haverhill, Linda Rogers of Bradford, Margaret Proto and husband Phil of Groveland, Ann Donovan and husband Michael of York ME; as well as many nieces and nephews. Michael was predeceased by his brother in-law Billy Rogers. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 22 in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Please note to wear masks and social distancing measures will be in place. Private interment to follow.
