HAVERHILL – Hristos (Chris) Hatziandreou, 78, of Greece and longtime Haverhill resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2020, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born and raised in Kalloni, Lesvos, Greece on January 13, 1942 he was youngest of 5 sons of Ilias and Anastasia (Vatousiou) Hatziandreou. He graduated schools in Kalloni and enlisted in the Greek Army where he was a Captain and he attended a University in Athens.
Hristos married Amalia (Alexandropoulou) Hatziandreou on September 6, 1970, and shared 50 years of loving marriage. The family immigrated to the United States 1974 where he worked a few jobs until he bought a pizza shop in 1989 and worked until his retirement in 2015. Hristos was a kind and generous man that worked hard and believed in helping others. He was deep in his Greek Orthodox Faith and believed in the power of prayer.
He was proud of his Greek heritage and enjoyed traveling back to his country every summer. He enjoyed seeing friends and family but ask anyone and they will tell you that his greatest pride and joy were his 2 granddaughters, Emily and Alexa. There is nothing that made him happier than spending as much time as he could with them and the feeling was mutual. They loved their Papou with all their hearts and his memory will live on forever.
