Helen M. (Avjian) MacKnight

ATKINSON, NH – Helen Mary MacKnight (Mimi) passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the age of 91. 

She had been residing in NH the past three years. Prior to that she lived in Haverhill and North Andover MA. She was raised in Malden, MA, by her parents Albert and Mary (Hutchinson) Avjian and then married Kenneth Parker (KP) MacKnight. Upon marriage, she moved to Wakefield, West Peabody and then to North Andover. Helen received her RN degree from the Malden School of Nursing through Endicott College. 

Helen is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth MacKnight, as well as her sister Adeline Ruggles, and brothers Ralph and James Avjian. She is survived by her children Richard MacKnight and wife Marie, Donna Cardarelli and husband Michael and Kim Scanlon and husband Michael; grandchildren Erin (MacKnight) Parker, Kyle MacKnight, Joshua Miano and wife Leah, Jill (Cardarelli) Doherty and husband Jim, Stephen Cardarelli, Elise (Scanlon) Comeau and husband Joe and Matthew Scanlon; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother Albert (Walter) Avjian of North Reading.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 28, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Services will follow in the funeral home.
