Francis W. Roux, Sr.

NORTHFIELD, VT - Francis William Roux, Sr., 88, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020, at the hospital in Lakeland, FL, with family by his side.

Francis was born on September 24, 1932, in Northfield, VT, son of the late Frederic and Fern (Spooner) Roux. He is the cherished husband of his wife Jeannette (Larose) Roux, whom they have shared 58 years of marriage.

He loved airplanes and attended air shows as often as he could.  Francis attained his private pilot’s license and built and owned several airplanes with his brother Roger. He enjoyed flying them with family and friends at the nearby airport. Truly a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Francis was a hard worker but always made time to be home for his children. He enjoyed fiddle playing, calling square dances, hunting, fishing and working on cars. He loved to swim and taking family vacations to lakes each summer. 

In retirement, Francis spent his summers in Vermont and Massachusetts and winters in Florida. He enjoyed the outdoors, his life with his wife Jeannette and family and spending time with his children and grandchildren. If there was a project that needed to be accomplished, Francis was the first to jump in and help.  He could build and fix just about anything, a master of all trades from mechanical to carpentry, he always figured it out.

His surviving famliy members in addition to his wife Jeannette, include his children Peter Roux, Paul Roux, Charlene Bellavance and husband Dana, Francis Roux and wife Julie and Leonard Roux; eight cherished grandchildren; brothers Andy Roux and wife Marie and Roger Roux and wife Linda; he was the brother of late Robert Roux, Eugene Roux and Irene Berno.

Catholic Funeral Rites will be offered for Francis’ family. His interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Northfield, VT. In lieu of flowres, contributions may be made to Boston Children's Hospital Trust, 401 Park Drive, Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215.
