HAVERHILL - Deane H. Staples, 86, resident of Partridge House in Hampton, NH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at the Exeter Hospital, Exeter, NH.
Deane was born on March 7, 1935 in Beverly, MA where he was also raised. He is a proud veteran, having retired from the U.S. Navy as an Officer after several decades of service, including during Vietnam. After retiring from the Navy, He worked for the Postal Service out of the Beverly Post Office until retirement. He then resided in Haverhill, MA for many enjoyable years.
Deane loved his antique cars and touring on his motorcycles. He enjoyed being active, running and walking 5 miles a day also listening to Country Music and following local bands.
Survived by his children, Susan Clancey and husband Kevin of Gloucester, Joanne Lynch, Jacksonville, FL and Clifford Staples of Wakefield; goddaughter Debra Cannata and partner Jeffrey Paolino of North Hampton, NH; grandchildren Dominic Cannata and wife Valerie, Nathan Cannata, Terri Boudreau, Christopher Clancey and wife Sylvia, Colleen Beau Craft and Tommy Lynch; eleven great-grandchildren; and many friends and colleagues from over the years; predeceased siblings include Roger Staples, Edith Howard and Miriam Dodge.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 28, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Services with U.S. Navy Honors will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. For guestbook, visit www.driscollcares.com
