HAVERHILL - Catherine (Albano) Maltais, 62, of Haverhill, MA, left this world on Saturday, August 28, 2021 after a three year battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was surrounded by family and her friends of 40 plus years, Lisa Laurion and Denise Beal when she passed.
Catherine was born on April 8, 1959, in Everett, MA, the daughter of Daniel and Betty Jean (Gauthier) Albano. She was raised in Everett and graduated Everett High School.
She was one of eight children, Alice Rose Hurlbut, of the world, Daniel Albano, Jr., late of Everett, Carmine Albano, of NH, Joseph Albano, of Everett, David Albano, of Dorchester, Carolyn Albano, late of Everett, Jean Robinson, of Maine, as well as their respective children.
Catherine was an employee of Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill, MA for over 18 years. She was the former wife of William Maltais, Jr., who passed in 2019. Her biggest job in her very blessed life was her five children and most importantly, her four grandchildren. The greatest moments in Catherine’s life were spent with her grandchildren, they were her greatest joy and she would spend almost every weekend with them.
She is survived by her five children, Amy Maltais and partner Anthony Leal and their two children Ava and Asher Maltais, of Haverhill, Kayte Maltais, of the world, Bethanne (Maltais) Ibarra and husband Carlos Ibarra and their children Xayne and Xander, of Plant City, FL, Benjamin Maltais of Plaistow, NH and Micah Maltais of Haverhill.
Catherine was loved and cared for by so many friends and family. She always had a smile on her face, and a kind word for any that needed. Her ability to make others laugh and her baking skills will be missed the most. Her favorite cake was an Italian Rum Cake (with real rum!).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 9 in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Services Friday will be offered graveside in Highland Cemetery, Newton, NH at 11:30 AM. All are welcome. For guestbook, visit www.driscollcares.com
