Born in Haverhill, MA, he grew up in Merrimac, MA until he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served during the Korean Conflict and was a three time decorated soldier and achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. After he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army he returned to Haverhill where he went to work in the shoe industry. During his 36 years working at Allen Shoe Co he was a committed union member and for a time served as president of his local union.

Arthur was enthusiastically involved with the community. He coached Little League, was a member of the PTA and helped fund the Bradford Swim Club by going door to door selling memberships before the ground was broken. He was always supportive and willing to lend a hand to his friends, neighbors and community.

Arthur had many hobbies and interests he shared with his circle. He enjoyed fishing, tending to his aquariums, collecting and watching old movies, slot car building and racing, constructing and flying model airplanes. He loved the outdoors and in recent years spent time by the pool with his family, hosting cookouts and gardening.

Most importantly, to those he loved he was the center of our lives. His sense of humor, storytelling and wit will be greatly missed.
